4 docked over faking Obasanjo’s farm trademark

The suspects whose names were given as Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdullahi, Toyosi Oluwole, Falowo Banjo and Dr Emmanuel Ohajinwa, were charged with criminal conspiracy, abetment and using a false property contrary to section 396, 83 and 373 of the penal code law.

According to Police First Information Report (FIR), the accused persons were apprehended for the alleged crime after the Zonal Manager of Obasanjo Farms, Falana Victor, lodged a complaint with the police on the alleged activities of Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdullahi, arraigned as the first accused person, who was reportedly found “selling some different chicks inside the false purported cartons of the Obasanjo Farms.”

The FIR also stated that Abdullahi’s confession led to the arrest of the three other suspects in Oyo State. “But you voluntarily confessed that it was you, Toyosi Oluwale, who supplied him with the products marked with the name of Obasanjo from Ibadan, Oyo State. You also mentioned Falowo Banjo of Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State as the one who abetted him on the illegal business by supplying him with the false Obasanjo carton to package chicks inside,” the FIR read.

Abdullahi was reportedly “found with 20 cartons of 1,000 pieces of day old broiler chicks valued at N450,000 on the 19th  of January by the Zonal Manager. But all the accused persons denied the allegation.

Mr Uche E. A. appeared for Abduallahi, while Dele Olaniya and Rosemary O. appeared for Toyosi Oluwole and Falowo Banjo and Udo Ofuronna appeared for Dr Emmanuel Ohajinwa.
