For most gifted newcomer M.I. /Djinee (Safe) as well as Djinee (Overkilling) are nominees. In the most gifted duo, group or featuring are M.I. /Djinee (Safe) and P Square/J-Martins (E No Easy). General Pype/Naeto C,Vector, Sasha, Da Grin & Gt (Champion remix) were nominated for most gifted ragga dancehall video. In the Most Gifted Afro Pop group are Anogiri (Oyibo) and P Square/J-Martins (E No Easy). Tolumide (My Love) was nominated for most gifted R ‘n’ B as Naeto C (Ako Mi Ti Poju) is nominated for most gifted hip hop video. In the most gifted West video four Nigerians had three of the five nominations. They are 2 Face (Implications), Da Grin (Pon Pon Pon) and Sasha/Naeto C/Sauce Kid (Making Money remix). M.I. /Djinee (Safe) is nominated for most gifted video of the year.

Also worthy of note are nominations of Canada-based Somalian rapper, K’Naan of the hugely popular ‘Waving Flag’ song with three nominations for most gifted male video, most gifted hip hop video and most gifted video of the year. Following closely is Ghana’s rap duo of Kweku T and D-Black with two nominations for most gifted hip hop video and most gifted video of the year.
