Enyeama: I feel no pressure

The Israeli-based goaltender was only 19 years old and had only made his international debut the previous month when then Nigeria Coach Adegboye Onigbinde gave him a mighty chance to go up against England at the World Cup finals eight years ago.

“I remember very well. All I kept telling myself was not to panic. I was very happy that I kept a clean slate that day”, Enyeama, named the Best Player in Israel the last football season, said.

That was a long time ago. Now, the confident-looking goalie has been to four African Cup of Nations finals and delighted by a second appearance at football’s biggest stage.

“There is nothing like the World Cup. But I have been there before and I have experience at the highest level. It will be a tough game but if we do the things we are supposed to do, we can come out smiling at the end”.

Nigeria lost 0-1 to Argentina at the 2002 World Cup and 1-2 to the same team at the 1994 World Cup, after Samson Siasia had put the Super Eagles ahead at the Foxboro Stadium, Boston.
