The Gambia gears up for musical concert in tribute to Michael Jackson

As part of the on-going 5th Kanilai International Cultural Festival, this is the first of its kind since Michael Jackson’s sudden death.

Jermaine Jackson, who seems to have developed a special relationship with the Gambian leader Yahya Jammeh, has jetted into Banjul from the United States with some 60 family members, members of his band as well as staff and fans. He promises to devote the proceeds from the performance to the many charitable bodies President Jammeh has created for women’s emancipation and girl’s education as well as for child welfare.
