The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 250 men to protect schools in troubled areas in Adamawa State.
The Commandant General of the Corps, Muhammad Gana disclosed this during inspection of some schools in Gombi and Hong.
He expressed satisfaction with level of security in the schools he visited, saying the visit was in response to a presidential directive for provision of absolute security in schools.
He urged parents and school authorities in the schools affected by Boko Haram insurgency in the state to cooperate with security agencies for improved protection, adding that 250 personnel had already been deployed to the affected areas.
The commandant General therefore assured the Corps members of improved welfare, saying payment of their outstanding allowances was being worked out.
" Yes it is true,there are some promotion allowances hanging but the office of the Accountant General of the Federation is handling such issues and I believe they are working on it assiduously ".Gana affirmed
Boko Haram had controlled seven affected local government areas in the state which include Madagali, Michika, Gombi, Song, Hong,Maiha and Mubi.
