Police arrest Lagos Oba’s kidnapper

Detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested the leader of a gang of kidnappers that have been terrorizing residents of the metropolis in the last one year. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni said, Peretu Governor, 42, alias Pastor is the most wanted kidnapper in Lagos State and responsible for the abduction of the Oniba of Iba and the recent killing of a mobile policeman in Lagos.
He was allegedly arrested by policemen from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Parading the suspect along with 15 others, Owoseni, said the suspect who claimed to be a pastor with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church is also the gang’s armourer.
Items recovered from the gang Armourer include AK-47 rifles, various military uniforms and ammunition. The commissioner said: “Undercover policemen arrested one Ebimobe Jojo, who is a female member of the gang on Tuesday. It was her confessional statement that gave us an insight to the activities of the gang member.”
