BURSCON appoints Dr. Adamu as president

The Bursar of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr Abel Ujiyah Adamu has been appointed President of Bursars Association of Polytechnics, Monotechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (BURSCON).
Dr. Adamu who was appointed president, during the association’s conference held recently in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was until his appointment the vice president of the association.
The constitution of BURSCON stipulates that the vice president of the association who usually emerges through election automatically becomes the substantive president at the expiration of the tenure of the president.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Adamu, who hails from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, thanked members of the association for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work with other executives of the body in moving it to greater heights.
He admonished his colleagues that as financial officers of their various institutions, they should key into the President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption in order to maintain good reputation which the accounting profession is known for.
