Buhari appoints new National Librarian

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Professor Lenrie Olatokumbo Aina as the new National Librarian.
A statement issued by David Imeh of the National Library said that the appointment took effect from the August 1, 2016.
Aina, a professor of library and information sciences, succeeded Malam Habib Jato.
The new National Librarian, who possessed a Ph.D in library studies from the University of Ibadan, M.Phil information science, from the City University of London and a Bsc (Hons) chemistry from the University of Lagos, pledged to be transparent and fair during his maiden meeting with the management staff.
He advocated participatory leadership and said that he would prioritise welfare of staff.
