The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Mr Waziri Onibiyo Adio, has declared N55.6million personal assets, as by the required Code of Conduct Bureau.
Adio, in his highlights of public declaration form sent to the media, yesterday, said he believed public assets declaration by public servants would reduce corruption in the country.
“This (asset declaration) is a potentially powerful sunshine mechanism that could help, in very practical ways; limit the incidence of corruption, one of the major challenges of our country”, he said.
The 55.6m declared by Adio included his two houses in Abuja and Lagos, undeveloped land in Abuja and Iwo, Osun State, two cars his households furniture, generators, money in his bank accounts and his shares in small private companies.
