Senate concludes investigation on Lamorde’s fraud allegation

The Senate committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions has completed report on the N1trillion fraud allegation levelled against the erstwhile chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde.
Senate had in last August commenced investigation into the matter following a petition written by one Mr. George Uboh accusing Lamorde of the divertion.
Speaking with our correspondent yesterday, the chairman of the committee, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo East) said the report on the case was ready and that it would be submitted next week during plenary.
Thrice the panel invited Lamorde but he didn’t honour their invitations as he was said to be out of the country.
On the case of the chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr. Danladi Umar, he said they are waiting for completion of the probe being carried out at the House of Representatives.
