The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing fight against insecurity, particularly the scourge of banditry affecting various parts of the country.
Major General Kevin Aligbe, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), gave this assurance during a gathering for participants of the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE) held in Akure, Ondo State, over the weekend.
Addressing the officers, Maj. Gen. Aligbe emphasised the need for sustained efforts in tackling the country’s security challenges, which include banditry, kidnapping, and external threats.
He stressed that the army’s mission to secure the nation remains unwavering, and officers must remain prepared to confront these issues head-on.

“We must complete this fight before returning to the barracks and turning our focus to other matters,” Aligbe said.
He urged officers to continue their training rigorously to ensure they are fully equipped for the challenges ahead.
Aligbe also reminded the officers that they must be ready to respond at a moment’s notice to both regional and global efforts aimed at maintaining peace.
