Edo State public school, Imaguero College has won the 2024 Seplat Energy Pearl quiz competitions for schools in Edo and Delta states.
The school won the star prize of N10 million, becoming the first public school to reach the final since its inception.
It scored 65 points to beat Marble Hill School, Asaba that polled 48 points to win second place with N5 million price attached.
While Baptist High School, Benin City scored 74 points to emerge third place while the Young Achievers’ Model School, Asaba with 48 points emerged fourth position and received N3 million price.

Speaking shortly after the competition, the Managing Director, Seplat West Limited, Ayodele Olatunde, said the quiz was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for its host states.
He said about 600 schools took online tests to qualify for the competition across Edo and Delta, adding that after the online test, the numbers were reduced to 142 schools, with 71 schools in Edo and 71 in Delta State respectively.
