The Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has disclosed that the command has arrested 592 motorists involved in traffic violations in the state.
The state FRSC Sector Commander, Cyril Mathew disclosed this in Benin City in a chat with City and Crime.
Mathew said the offenders were arrested in the month of August across the state.
According to him, the offenders were arraigned in a Mobile Court and fine accordingly by the court for various offences.

Mathew said the most common traffic violations in the state include fire extinguisher, failure to install speed limiting device, tyre violation, seat belt use violation, overloading, route violation, driving against traffic, use of phone while driving among others offences.
He explained that the offenders’ arrest, arraignment in mobile court and fine would serve as a deterrent to other drivers who are in the habit of traffic violation on the road.
Mathew however charged motorists in the state to adhere to traffic rules and regulations as well as maintaining discipline on the road.
