Akwa United inspirational player, Friday Ubong, has said the ‘Promise Keepers’ will maintain their new form to the end as they fight to escape the drop to the lower division.
Speaking before their next match in the StarTimes-Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) against Sunshine Stars in Akure, Ubong said Akwa United will go for the maximum points in the week 35 fixture.
The attacking winger hinged his confidence on the recent back-to-back victories away at Lobi Stars in Lafia and at home against relegation-threatened Heartland.
The victories have since reduced the relegation worries that had enveloped the camp of Akwa United.

Ubong was instrumental to the last victory over Heartland as he scored the opening goal and his shot was deflected into the net by Heartland defender, Chinedu Ozor, for the second goal in the 2-0 victory.
Speaking after the match, Ubong expressed satisfaction with the outcome and said Akwa United will maintain the winning streak
“Two straight victories in the StarTimes-NPFL has given us confidence. We just need to keep on believing in ourselves, stay focus and maintain the momentum in the remaining matches” he stated
With the two victories in week 33 and 34 against Lobi Stars and Heartland respectively, Akwa United have moved to the 14th position with 43 points.
