The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, said the command has arrested 124 suspected criminals of various offences from July 11 till date.
He listed some of the offences to include armed robbery, cultism, rape, murder, and kidnapping.
Alamutu disclosed this while parading some of the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta.
He noted that the command achieved the fit in collaboration with other security agencies.

Alamutu explained that the command had discovered through credible intelligence the suspects’ hideouts and attacked them, and their operational weapons were confiscated.
He added that the command equally recovered reasonable numbers of exhibits from the suspected criminals.
He stated that there had been a remarkable decline in sundry cases of crime in the past three months.
“We are closing up on the perpetrators.
“I want to reassure the people of Ogun State that the command under my watch will continue to be inhabitable for all criminal elements, especially cultists and land grabbers,” he said.
The commissioner pledged to relentlessly fight criminality to a standstill, saying that the state had been relatively peaceful under his watch.
“However, the window of renunciation is still open to those willing to quit their membership of various cult groups and other acts of criminality.
“My admonition goes to parents/guardians to sensitise their wards to steer clear of crime and tendencies of criminality,” he said.
