Katsina State Primary Health Care Development Agency has embarked on a four-day massive polio immunization exercise where about 2 million children under five years are expected to be immunized against polio and other child killer diseases.
Five high risk LGA’s of Jibia, Daura, Mani, Funtua and Katsina were given special consideration during the exercise which was ceremoniously flagged-up in Farfaru villlage, Jibia LGA.
Speaking at the occasion, the director PHC of the area, Hamisu Lawal commended the people for the turn out and urged them to sustained the tempo to ensure all children were immunized.
About 96,000 doses of vaccines were provided for the conduct of the exercise in Jibia where About 8,000 children were targeted for this round of immunization. 307 vaccinators were deployed to 11 political wards of the area.
