An Ogbeson magistrates’ court sitting in Ikpoba Okha LGA of Edo State has sentenced a former staff of GT Fast Food and Restaurant, Betty Odion Onoilu, to one year in a correctional centre for stealing her employer’s money.
The prosecution told the court that Betty committed the offence in 2021 at the Agbor Road branch of GT Fast Food in Benin City.
The Magistrate, Bernard Oloyo, who didn’t give the suspect an option of fine, held that she was not remorseful throughout the trial and that with the overwhelming evidence before him he didn’t deem it fit to use the plea bargain option.
