The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has promised a cordial working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who assumed office on Monday.
The national chairman of the association and chairman of the Abaji Area Council in the FCT, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, stated this in a statement in Abuja.
He said the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 16th President of the country would bring fortunes to the country, West Africa and Africa as a whole.
He said President Tinubu’s victory in the last general elections was a clear testimony that Nigeria’s democracy is maturing by the day, with promises for various tiers of government to synergize for good governance.

The ALGON chair pledged the support of the 774 LGAs to the new administration.
He said ALGON looks forward to a closer working relationship with the administration in its commitment to provide security and wellbeing of the people.
