Kidnapping: Visually impaired lady regains freedom after 11 days

A visually impaired lady, Hannah Opeyemi, who was abducted in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has regained her freedom from her abductors, after 11 days in the captivity.

The lady was abducted during an attack on a legal practitioner, Sanni Boladale, in the front of his house at Soyoye, Abeokuta.

Abductors demand N3m ransom to free lady kidnapped in lawyer’s car

She was taken away after they failed to abduct the lawyer who was said to be their target .

Eleven days after, the kidnappers freed the victim after some amount of money was reportedly paid as ransom.

Our correspondent gathered that over N2 million was paid to the kidnappers as ransom before the lady was released.

The lawyer said Opeyemi had been released to the family by her abductors on Sunday evening.

He said “We thank God she has been released. With the way she appeared, she didn’t have any sign of abuse or harm. They were not cruel on her, apart from the fact that she had walked parts of Ogun State.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi also confirmed the release of the lady on Monday.

Oyeyemi said “Yes, she has been released . We have said it that the command would not be part of any arrangement of ransom payment .

“Police will never be part of payment of ransom. We will get the perpetrators soon . We have got some clues about the kidnappers. They would soon be arrested and paraded.”
