The Management of Wikki Tourists has announced a one week break for the players after the Match day 19 of the Nigeria Professional Football League which brought to an end the first round of the 2022 NPFL season.
Announcing the break when he addressed the players on behalf of the Management at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi on Monday, the Team Manager, Yakubu Yankari, said the break is in line with LMC’s approval of two weeks break for the league.
He said Wikki Tourists’ camp will open on Sunday, March 27 while full training would commence the following day.
The Team Manager warned against late resumption just as he reminded the players of the task ahead in the second round which he said requires serious training.
He also expressed the management’s appreciation of the performance, discipline and maturity exhibited by the players during the first round urging them to maintain the tempo in the second round.
Also speaking, the Technical Adviser of the club, Kabiru Suleiman Dogo commended the players for doing their best by ending the first round in a good position.
Dogo revealed his intention to inject more good legs into the team for the second round challenge.
He thanked the state government, management and other stakeholders for their support to the team.
Wikki Tourists finished the first round in the 7th position with 27points from the 19 matches played.
