38 bag distinction as 1,165 students graduate from Agric college

A total of 38 students of Division of Agricultural Colleges (DAC), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) graduated with distinction at the joint convocation of the colleges in Kaduna.

Speaking at the ceremony held at College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Mando, Kaduna, ABU’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Ibrahim Garba said 354 other students graduated with upper credit, 473 bagged lower credit and 300 completed with pass.

The Vice-Chancellor said the 1, 165 graduands were from the 2015/ 2016,‎ 2016 / 2017 through 2017 / 2018 academic sessions.

He explained that the students would be awarded National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) from Samaru College of Agriculture, Zaria, College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Mando, Kaduna and Kabba College of Agriculture, Kogi State.

” Today I will confer a total of 460 National Diplomas and 543 Higher National Diplomas to deserving graduates for the 2015/2016, 2016/2017 through 2017/2018 academic sessions.

” 38 scores distinction, 354 upper credit, ‎473 lower credit and 300 pass. Let me congratulate the graduands for successful completion of their studies in their various colleges and wish them success in their future endeavours.” he said.

He urged them to be good ambassadors of the Division and Ahmadu Bello University at all times. He also called on ‎them to use the skills, knowledge and training acquired in meeting the new challenges as they go into the larger society.‎

Earlier, Director of the division, Professor, Najume Giginya, urged the students to be hard working and honest anywhere they find themselves in future.

Gingiya said efforts are being made in the Division to address evolving needs of its colleges through the introduction of new programmes and collaborations in line with the national agricultural extension services and its value addition to the farmers.‎
