Our correspondent gathered that Alhaji Adio’s son was brutally hacked to death along Owoseni Street, a few metres away from Ijanikin Police Station.

It was also gathered that the second victim was killed not too far from Owoseni Street.

The area had been engulfed in bloody cult war in the last few months.

Traders in the area who were out to do brisk business hurriedly locked up their shops and fled the area for fear of being trapped in the bloody war.

According to a witness, Wasiu, the clash started around 1am at the venue of a street carnival, forcing people to close shops.

“The hoodlums always used the opportunity to rob people of their belongings. It took time before the police arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control,” he added. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said one Abubakar Yahaya Ibrahim was arrested the same day at the Egbo-Elerin area of Ojo.

He said the suspect is among three suspects that were first sighted by policemen and that two of them fled while Abubakar, 32, was arrested.

“A locally made double gun, some expensed and live cartridges were recovered from a bag found in his possession,” he added.
