No fewer than 250 shanties and 200 makeshift houses were on Wednesday destroyed in an inferno that razed Oko Baba Sawmill Market.

The inferno occurred around 11:04 am at Kano Street, Oko Baba, Ebute Meta, Lagos.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Lagos Territorial Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, said about 40 sawmilling machines, 250 shanties and 200 makeshift houses were destroyed in the fire.
