The National Executive Council of the 407 Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Council (NENYLC) has cautioned presidential candidates of political parties and other politicians against hate speech, ahead of the 2023 election campaigns.

President General, NENYLC, Mr Terry Obieh, made the plea on Wednesday in Abuja, where he urged candidates for 2023 polls to engage in constructive debates on their plans for Nigerians and not name calling, hate speech or rumour mongering.

He, however, commended the registered political parties for conducting hitch-free primary elections and urged the presidential candidates that emerged to unite and put Nigeria first in the course of their political campaigns and other engagements across the country.

Obieh also urged political parties to give a sense of belonging to every segment of the society.

Also at the meeting were the National Organizing Secretary of the group and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC), Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, among other officials.
