The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has issued a certificate of return to its presidential candidate, Mr. Kola Abiola, who defeated three others in the June 5 primaries held in Abuja.

The party also presented certificates of return to 21 candidates vying for the governorship in their respective states. Among them are a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Usani Usani (Cross Rivers State) and Alhaji Salihu Yakassai (Kano State).

2023: Presidential candidates cautioned against hate speech

Presidency: I’ll run again, says Yahaya Bello

Presenting the certificates to the candidates yesterday in Abuja, the National Chairman of the PRP, Dr. Falalu Bello, said the party has presented its best to offer purposeful leadership to Nigerians at all levels.

Bello stressed that the PRP would win elections in a free and fair contest.

“A party hitherto perceived to be a northern party is fielding a Yoruba presidential candidate (Kola Abiola) and it is by choice not by imposition. He scored more votes than all other presidential aspirants and he won across the states and the FCT. Kola is not a Yoruba candidate but a national candidate and a Nigerian candidate.

“In the 2023 general elections, our party is going to contest guber elections in 21 states as well as the presidential position,” he added.

Meanwhile, Abiola said the PRP will bring change and offer youths opportunities.
