2015: Elechi pledges power shift

Elechi, who reiterated his stance at a ceremony to mark the nation’s 54 Independence anniversary, said he considers the gesture a duty and debt to people of the state.
He, however, added that such a person must not only be tolerant of opposition but also amenable to dissenting and contrary impulses in line with the shared aspiration for political inclusion and mutual accommodation.
“Even as the tempo of political activities gathers momentum, we must maintain our sanity and keep our focus. In line with our shared aspiration for political inclusion and mutual accommodation, we remain committed to power-shift to the southern zone of Ebonyi State,” he said.
He appealed to people of the state who have suffered neglect and marginalization to be patient.
