Two security agents have been injured in a clash over network cable at Papeiri village, Gitata District, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Confirming the incident on phone in Lafia, the state capital on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Jerry Victor, said personnel of the corps and the Nigeria Police Force fought over who would take cables dismantled from a telecommunication mast in Gitata.

He said, “Three of our personnel were involved in the fight and in the process, one of them and a police officer were injured.”

When contacted via phone, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Shehu Nadada, said the DPO in Gitata had briefed him and he had interfaced with the state commandant of the NSCDC and resolved the issue.
