Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on Monday visited the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammad Sabo Nanono, in Abuja, on the domestication of the Federal Government’s programme on ranching otherwise known as the Ruga project.
Zulum told Nanono that he had approved the allocation of land in Borno for the Ruga project which is under the National Livestock Development Plan.

He said in addition to the ranching project sited in the central part of Borno, the state was in another collaborative project that would be extended to southern and northern parts of the state.
Officials from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development are expected to arrive in Maiduguri on an assessment for the commencement of other projects.
The minister commended Zulum for his foresight and efforts so far while assuring the completion of the work.
He also expressed gratitude to the governor for the visit.
Zulum was accompanied by the Commissioner for Animal and Fisheries, Hon. Modu Walama; the Special Adviser on Animal Resources, Tijjani Goni Modu and the Borno State Coordinator for Ruga, Hon. Musa Inuwa Kubo.
