Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Monday, assented to the state’s 2021 appropriation bill.

The state’s parliament increased the budget to N248 billion from N208 billion submitted by the governor.

Zulum had, in his initial presentation, proposed N135.1 billion for capital projects, which represented 65% of the budget sum, and N72 billion for recurrent.

The governor directed ministries, agencies and departments to comply with the provisions of the law and to accelerate project implementation.

Speaker, House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan said the budget was increased to cater for industrial growth and job opportunities.
