Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has agreed to rebuild 33 units of teachers’ quarters damaged by insurgents in Gwoza town.
Governor Babagana Zulum who met with teachers in Gwoza, ordered the rebuilding and remodeling of personal houses belonging to 33 teachers which were destroyed by insurgents during their occupation in 2014, a statement by the governor’s aide, Malam Isa Gusau has said.
Six additional teachers would also be recruited and sent to two public schools in the town based on their needs.
In the same vein, the governor, on Sunday, distributed food items to 16,000 displaced women who returned to Gwoza recently in addition to the sum of N5, 000 given to each of them.
The intervention was part of the continued support to vulnerable residents of communities whose means of livelihood got affected by activities of insurgents, the statement said.
The governor was also said to have outlawed political thuggery in the state.
