Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Tuesday, offered a ‘Christmas package’ for each of the over 700 soldiers under the 151 Battalion for not suffering a single defeat in all their campaigns against insurgents since inception.
This came 24 hours after the governor visited insurgent-infested Maiduguri-Damaturu road and accused patrols of negligence.

A statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Public Relation and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, said Zulum announced the package when he paid a visit to the battalion in Bama.
Zulum later visited Gurusoye, a village behind the battalion’s headquarters destroyed by insurgents many years ago and directed the construction of 200 houses for returnees.
