Zulum honoured for proactive steps in handling insurgency

Governor Babagana Zulum of  Borno State has won the Year 2020 Community Pillar Award organised by the Community Development Institute (CDI) Nigeria for the proactive steps he adopted in handling insecurity and insurgency in the state.

The institute’s Executive Director/Registrar, Ogara Andrew, in a statement in Abuja said the objective of the award was to promote leadership, creativity, and innovation in addressing community and social development challenges in the country.

“Governor Babagana Zulum has been able to foster a workable community engagement method that does not only put people first but respects and reflects the priorities of his people – an important factor that made him deserving of this award.

“His wish above all is to restore normalcy in the state, rebuild devastated homes, and return hundreds of thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their communities to restart their means of livelihood and continue with their regular social life,”
