The basketball enthusiast whose team has lost some of its key players to other rival teams in the country will be parading new set of young and aspiring players who have little knowledge of the heat when playing in the senior cadre of the money spinning Zenith bank sponsor league.

Speaking to Trustsport in Lagos during the week, Aboderin who also double as coach of the team explained that they would do better in their quest than what they achieved at the 2008 edition, adding that he is not bothered about the mass exodus of his players to another teams in anticipation for the encounter.

He remarked that though some of his new players were currently writing their NECO examinations and not at their peak for now but believed that by the time the game dunks-off, they would surprise all other teams at the end of the league.

“What I have on ground are bunch of new girls who have little experience of playing top league. They are currently writing their NECO examinations in which I support, sports without education amounts to nothing and I have to encourage them to further their career. But by the time the event start in July, they will see a different Dolphin team”, he noted.

“Though the league would have come up earlier this year but, some forces behind the league disrupted the programme.  By the grace of God Almighty we will get our goals achieved at the close of the league. No shaking at all”, he opined.

Meanwhile, Aboderin praised the efforts of the new Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) under the leadership of Tijani Umar for securing MultiChoice Nigeria partnership in sponsoring the basketball league for period of four years.

“This is a major achievement. It is a welcome development it has not happened in the game for a long time now due to poor leadership. I commend the board for putting a right peg in a right hole as they are there to make good names for themselves with this step taken within this period”, said Aboderin.
