Electricity consumers in Zamfara State have appealed to the state government to subsidise electricity in the state after the introduction of the new increased tariff.
They made the appeal at an interactive session organised by management of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO).
They also called on KAEDCO to roll out new meters for their customers, noting that proper metering would put an end to estimated billing. They said the new electricity service reflective tariff could only be effective if customers were properly metered.
In his remarks, the commercial manager of KEADCO in Gusau, Mustapha Ahmad Muhammad, said with the new service reflective tariff, residents stand to enjoy better service and called on their customers to ensure prompt payment of their bills.
Earlier, the Area Manager of Gusau Area Office, Engr. Saidu Dogara, assured the participants of the company’s readiness to work with stakeholders to ensure that people enjoyed affordable and uninterrupted power supply.
