Also consecrated as deacons, were Joseph Azubike Ekwoanya, Francis Peter Lemark and Okpanachi Jude Sunday.

Bishop Kukah charged the clergymen to see their elevation as a tasking challenge, requiring them to be more dedicated to the service of their creator and the Church. He urged them to continue to live simple and exemplary life that is befitting of their new status as chosen men of God.

The catholic Bishop also promised to see to the establishment of another parish in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, promising that the Diocese in Sokoto will ensure the posting of a priest for the new church in March, latest.

He therefore, appealed to catholic faithful in the state to support the move, which he said could even lead to other parishes sprouting from it.

The ordination ceremony which held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Gusau, was attended by families, friends of the priests and hundreds of Christians from within and outside the state.

“Are you resolved to consecrate your life to God for the salvation of His people, and to unite yourself more closely every day to Christ the High Priest, who offered himself for us to the Father as a perfect sacrifice?,” the kneeling priesthood candidates were asked earlier by Bishop Kukah, to which they individually answered: “I do.”
