Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle is set to lay the foundation for Ruga settlement and host a Durbar festival on the 5th and 6th September 2019, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, has disclosed.
Speaking during a press conference to highlight the events that would mark Governor Matawalle’s 100 days in office, Alhaji Bala Maru said the events which were slated for 2nd to 6th September, 2019 would take place to celebrate return of peace to the state.
He said the events marking 100 days in office would start with special prayers on 2nd September to thank the Almighty Allah for the return of peace to the state, just as public lectures would follow during which security experts would review the security situation and then make meaningful inputs.
“On the 5th of September, there is going to be a foundation laying for Ruga settlements during which the model of the Ruga settlement would be unveiled. Apart from this, there will be medical outreach for Fulani and their animals,” he added.
He further explained that during the Durbar festival, Fulani and farmers would be invited as was the case during Sharo festival recently and all the programmes would be carried out in the spirit of forgiveness and togetherness.
