Zamfara Bandits kill 8, steal cows

Suspected armed bandits yesterday killed at least 8 people in Bulakke village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Daily Trust has gathered.

Last week, 13 people were killed in Fankashi village after  gunfight between the armed bandits and vigilantes in the same local government area.

Residents told Daily Trust that the armed men stormed the village and started firing gunshots. The residents were thrown in to panic and started running for their dear lives.

“They fired gunshots at those trying to escape the carnage and 8 people were shot dead immediately. They carted away herds of cows and then dashed in to the bush, even though,  a contingent of soldiers is trailing the assailants as I’m talking to you,” a resident Usman Damina said. The spokesman of the state Police command DSP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comments as at the time of filing this report.
