Professor Kabir Jabaka, the Chairman, Campaign Steering Committee of an erstwhile member of the G-8 group in Zamfara state, Alhaji Sani Jaji, has dumped the APC for the PDP after the decision of his ally to realign himself with a faction ed by former Governor Abdulaziz Yari.
Prof. Jabaka, an ally Jaji, who fought for the APC governorship ticket, said he decided to not follow their former principal based on personal conviction.
While speaking during a meeting with other political allies, he said they would not follow Jaji because they could understand his decision to join Yari’s political movement.
“We met with Alhaji Sani Jaji and asked him why he realigned himself with the very people he castigated and called names during campaign and he did not give any concrete answer. Later, we heard that he had formally defected to ex-governor Yari’s side.
“Even when he did so, he did not inform anyone of us and we came to the conclusion that we will not share a political space with him and we are now hundred percent with governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle because of the governor’s commitment to bring back peace and development to the state,” Prof. Jabaka said.
Among those who defected to the PDP were prominent politicians, including Alhaji Hamisu Dauran, the state chairman of Justice, Peace and Pacific Resolution Forum of Nigeria, and Alhaji Na Allah Zurmi among many others.
