Yuletide: Users of fireworks, crackers to face prosecution in Edo

The Edo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Muhammed Dankwara, has warned residents of the state that the command has banned the sales and use of fireworks and crackers during the Yuletide.

Speaking with journalists, the command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said anyone caught with crackers or fireworks, including buyers and dealers, would be prosecuted.

He said, “The command wishes to inform the public, particularly marketers, buyers and users of pyrotechnics such as fireworks, firecrackers, popularly known as knock-out, and their likes that the ban on the use of these items is still in force.”
