Yuletide: Sultan Beach wears new look

Sultan Beach in Badagry now wears a new look with the 2023 Christmas and New Year festivities, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

A correspondent of NAN who visited the beach on Sunday reports that the facilities at the beach had been uplifted by a private company, Jibran Homes and Properties Ltd.

NAN also reports that the company has invested in a resort and lounge for the enjoyment of the fun seekers during the yuletide and beyond.

Mr Afeez Abdul-Salam, the Chief Executive Chairman, Rosh Beach Resort and Lounge, located inside the beach, said he decided to uplift the facilities because of the complaints by fun seekers.

“I grew up in Ajangbadi in Ojo Local Government Area and we used to visit the beach during Easter, Eid-el-Kabir and Christmas.

“In 2022, I came with my team to Iworo in Badagry to negotiate for a property and we decided to visit Sultan Beach.

“It was shocking to find that the beach has been in the same state it had been since the year 2000.

“As a real estate chairman, we were planning to invest in a resort at Ajah Eleko, in Lagos before, but seeing the situation of the beach, I decided to build the resort here in Sultan Beach, Badagry,” he said.

Abdul-Salam said the resort had provided relaxation for the youth and the old ones.

“We have a playing ground, a swimming pool, a bouncing castle and many others for the children to enjoy themselves and where they can get their ice cream and popcorn.

“We also have relaxation and lounge for adults. We have created lots of facilities here for people’s enjoyment.

“Sultan Beach is a place to visit this year because we have a lot of side attractions,” he said.

The chairman commended the Chairman of Badagry-West Local Council Development Area, Mr Joseph Gbenu, for his passion for development in the council.

During the 2023 Easter celebration, fun seekers appealed to the Lagos State Government and Badagry West LCDA  to uplift facilities at Sultan Beach to make it a centre of attraction during festivals. (NAN)
