The Chief Executive Officer of Yucateco boxing promotions, Omonlei Imadu, has pledged to build an ultra-modern boxing gymnasium in Lagos.
The boxing gym would be built at the Teslim Balogun stadium, said Imadu on Thursday, during a visit to Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC).
The meeting, which lasted for several hours at the DG’s office, climaxed with a visit to the site where the Gym would be erected at the stadium.
The Yucateco boss was in company of the Technical Director of the Yucateco Boxing League, Babatunde Laguda, and other executives of the boxing outfit.

Imadu said that his zeal to change the face of boxing in the country necessitated his resolve to build a boxing gymnasium for the commission.
“I am of the opinion that the government alone cannot adequately fund sports, especially at the grassroots level.
“This is why I want to invest my personal resources in the development of amateur boxing in the country.
“Let me assure you that this is not one of those pledges that won’t be redeemed, I hope to deliver this project in four months.
“We are putting machineries in place immediately to kick-start the construction process.” Imadu said.
The D-G of LSSC, Lekan Fatodu, lauded the Yucateco boss for his commitment to developing boxing in the country.
He said that the commission was always open to collaborate with the outfit whenever called upon. (NAN)
