The Vice president, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), north-central, Mustapha Abdulkarim (Allah-dey) has called on the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to allow YSFON to take charge of age grade football tournaments.
The football administrator made this known in a chat with Daily Trust yesterday shortly after he declared open the ongoing 39th edition of Ramat U-16 Cup in Kano.

He said “the age group tournament should be left for us to organise so that we will be able to ensure that we supply top quality players for Nigeria’s senior national teams through this Ramat Cup and other tournaments we organise.
“I have just represented my president, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Dr, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna to declare open the 39th edition of the Ramat Cup.
“I want to assure you that this year’s edition is going to be a special one and you can see we have recorded about 21 states in this tournament. Every year we don’t normally have less than 20 and kudos to the states that were around and we are assuring the country that so many states learn their lessons.
“From the screening this year, only the eligible players are going to participate in the championship. We do everything possible to eliminate age cheats. So NFF should allow us to be in charge of organising age grade competitions,” he reiterated.
