This followed the resignation of the former chairperson, Pastor Nyeneime Andy as the YPP chairperson in Akwa Ibom in January, alongside the party governorship candidate, Bassey Albert, after both announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Udoka’s appointment was contained in the communiqué of the 24th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the party on Thursday in Abuja and signed by the YPP National Publicity Secretary, Egbeola Wale Martins.

Daily Trust earlier reports that the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the YPP said it had collapsed its structure with that of the APC in the state, when its governorship candidate, deputy governorship candidate, State Executive Committee led by its former chairman and others visited the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state.

However, the party’s national spokesman in a swift reaction, said that the party did not collapse its structures into the APC in Akwa Ibom State.
