Daily Trust learnt that the protesting youths from, Egbebiri I and II and Akudonu, carried out the action on Sunday following the alleged refusal by Agip to provide a generating set for them one year after the oil company promised to do so.
The youths were said to have erected blockades on the roads leading to wells 3, 6,8,11 and 12 chanting solidarity songs.
Secretary of Egbebiri II community, Solomon Ogiama, said the company at a meeting in April, promised to supply the generating set in May, but failed to do so.
He warned that until they hold a meeting with the general district manager of the company and the generating set is provided, they would not remove the blockades they had mounted.
