Youths set bandit’s corpse ablaze in Kaduna

Youths have set ablaze the corpse of a fleeing suspected bandit in Nasarawa-Azzara village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

City & Crime reports that hunters, on Saturday, led soldiers to raid a bandits’ camp in the area in which three bandits were killed and the rest fled.

Disclosing the recent incident to our reporter through telephone on Sunday, a community leader said the bandit was arrested by hunters in a forest in neighbouring Kurutu village around 11am on Sunday.

He said, “This afternoon hunters arrested one of the bandits who sustained bullet wounds from the soldiers’ onslaught and was unable to escape and went to hide inside a valley. The hunters killed him instantly. Some youths who got the information mobilised to the forest with fuel and burnt the corpse.”

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
