A group, the Coalition of Tangale-Waja Youths and Students Associations have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to nominate a minister from Gombe South.
Addressing newsmen in Gombe, Chairman of the coalition, Shuaibu Bilayabu, said that since 1999 nobody from Gombe South had been picked as minister.
He noted that the senatorial district had rich cultural heritage, vibrant communities and untapped potentials that deserved representation at that level of governance.
He said, “Yet despite the countless contributions we have made to the development and progress of our great nation, we have been overlooked and neglected in the allocation of ministerial positions.
- Nigeria must pay attention to child education, others — UNICEF
- Shortage of lawyers affecting justice delivery – Legal Aid
“Since the return to democracy in 1999, more than eight ministers, as well as several heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), have been appointed, but none of these influential positions have been occupied by individuals from Gombe South.”
