Hundreds of youths on Friday protested in Owerri, the Imo State capital, demanding an end to the spate of insecurity in the state.
The youths said they were tired of the constant killings, kidnapping, banditry and all forms of insecurity that have rendered some parts of the state comatose in recent times.

The youths who matched from Control Post Roundabout to Government House gate then to Wetheral, Douglas, MCC, Bank, Okigwe, World bank Road, Orlu and Tetlow Roads, said the situation has brought the economy of the state to a standstill.
They called on politicians in the state to de-escalate tension in the state by playing politics with principles.
Speaking, chairman of the Imo Youths Peace Movement, Chidubem Martins Ogbenna, said they had also carried out same match in Orlu and Okigwe zones of the state.
Ogbenna said the essence of the rally was to sensitize the people of the state that there was no alternative to peace.
