A four-man armed robbery gang which invaded Igbolerin Ojo area of Lagos met stiff resistance from youths of the community who fought the hoodlums to a standstill.
The youths did not only repel the robbers, they recovered one locally made pistol, ammunition and a motorcycle belonging to the gang.

It was learnt that the robbers arrived in the community on two motorcycles on Sunday around midnight but could not operate as the youths resisted them.
Though the robbers escaped on one of the motorcycles, they abandoned the other bike and one of their guns.
Lagos State Police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident said it occurred around 11:30pm on Sunday.
Adejobi said the youths resisted the robbers who fled leaving behind one of their operational weapons.
“The suspected armed robbers came on two unregistered bikes but they were repelled by the youths who have been involved in the community policing strategies of the command.
“One unregistered operational bike and one locally made pistol with a live cartridge were recovered from them,” he said.
