Hundreds of aggrieved youths in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday barricaded roads in the front of the police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan, protesting the escape of Sunday Shodipe, a suspected serial killer in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
They were demanding that the matter should be investigated and officers found culpable must be prosecuted.

As a result of the protest, there was gridlock on the road between the Police Headquarters and Eleyele bus-stop.
A witness told our correspondent that the protesters went wild and attacked security personnel at the command with stones and other dangerous objects.
While addressing the angry youth, the Commissioner of Police, in the State, Nwachukwu Enwonwu, assured them of his readiness to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has deployed additional investigative aids to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Police Command in ongoing manhunt and efforts aimed at re-arresting Sunday Shodipe.
He said the team is expected to bring their vast operational, technical and investigative experience to bear in supporting ongoing efforts aimed at re-arresting and bringing the fugitive to book.
He said all persons indicted in the escape are to be identified and made to face the wrath of the law.
