A group, Dolen Machina Youth Council, has tasked the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Senate President Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan to fulfill their 2019 campaign pledges made on Machina Local Government Area.
The Chairman of the group Umar Alhaji Malut said that Governor Buni had during his campaign promised to provide the town with electricity and a road from Machina to Dolen Machina down to Karmashe village.
According to him for two years now none of these promises is fulfilled.
He said his people, especially farmers, continue to suffer lack of good road and the adverse economic effect caused by lack of electricity in their town.
“We are also reminding the Senate President Ahmed Lawan, who is representing our constituency, on the promises he made with regards to bringing electricity into the town from Machina down to Dolen Machina.
“For this one, I can evidently say work has commenced, because a contractor was mobilised to the site, he brought some poles and they started digging but they stopped half way and didn’t continue till today.
“We are reminding the senator to know, in case he doesn’t, he should urgently do something on it”
The group asked the leaders to come to their aid in their quest to have these much needed infrastructure in their town.
